Very professional ,supportive and understanding from day one. They understood the need well and customized where ever what ever was needed. Did not hesitate to accommodate last minute requests. Proactively provided all sizes of boxes along with wardrobe boxes which was amazing. Adam was the coordinator with whom I dealt with and was very approachable all the time. The crew was nothing short of amazing. They made sure everything is packed well. Touch wood didn’t suffered any major damage to any of the properties or the goods/furniture itself. Worked non stop and didn't hesitate to accommodate change of mind while assembling. It was a STRESS FREE move.Posted on Google![]()

Had a great experience with my move today. Things went very smoothly and my furniture was carefully wrapped and cared for. We were asked where we specifically wanted things placed and didn’t have to handle much other than that. I would hire Ferguson again for sure.Posted on Google![]()

I hired Ferguson to pack, move and store household contents of an estate. I met with Quinn prior to hiring. He gave me an estimate, went through the process, cost and answered questions. He was very knowledgeable. He gave me his contact info and was my contact throughout the process. Day 1 the 3 men’s that came to pack the house were on time, polite, professional and efficient. These qualities continued throughout the move and trash removal. I was really impressed with all of them. I would definitely use Ferguson again. I trust them completely and am really happy I gave them a call.Posted on Google![]()

Settling an estate can involve a lot of moving parts. Let’s discuss your situation, answer your questions, and determine the best next steps.
Supporting Executors & Estate Representatives
Settling an estate often involves far more than coordinating a move.
Executors, trustees, and family representatives are frequently responsible for managing legal and financial obligations, communicating with family members, preparing a property for sale, and determining what happens to a lifetime of belongings. These responsibilities often need to be managed while navigating timelines, family dynamics, and emotional decisions.
Many estate moves involve multiple stakeholders, each with different priorities and schedules. Some family members may be local, while others may live in different cities or provinces. Decisions about what will be kept, distributed, donated, sold, or stored often take longer than expected.
Having a clear moving plan can help reduce uncertainty and ensure the logistical aspects of settling an estate are handled in an organized and efficient manner. By understanding the property, timelines, and requirements early in the process, we can help coordinate the move and keep everyone informed about what happens next.
Preparing A Property For Sale
Many estate moves are connected to the sale of a home.
Before a property can be listed, staged, renovated, or transferred to new owners, belongings often need to be sorted, removed, relocated, or stored. In some situations, family members may still be making decisions about furniture, personal items, and household contents while important property timelines continue to move forward.
Creating a plan early helps ensure the home can be prepared according to the required schedule while providing flexibility for belongings that may need additional time or consideration.
Whether the goal is preparing a property for listing, meeting possession dates, or clearing a home after a sale has been completed, coordinated planning can help reduce last-minute pressure and keep the process moving forward.
Coordinating Belongings Across Multiple Locations
One of the most common challenges during an estate move is determining where everything needs to go.
Unlike a traditional move where belongings travel from one home to another, estate moves often involve multiple destinations. Furniture may be going to one family member, sentimental items to another, and some belongings may require temporary storage while decisions are being made.
In many cases, family members live in different cities, provinces, or regions. Coordinating transportation and delivery across multiple locations requires planning and organization to ensure belongings arrive where they need to go.
By understanding these requirements before moving day, we can help create a clear plan for distribution and transportation, reducing confusion and helping ensure nothing is overlooked.
Estate Packing Solutions
Estate moves often involve a wide variety of belongings, from everyday household items and furniture to artwork, antiques, collectibles, photographs, and family heirlooms.
Proper packing helps protect these items during transportation, storage, or distribution to family members. Depending on the estate, packing requirements may vary significantly, particularly when fragile, valuable, or sentimental belongings are involved.
Professional packing services can help reduce the time and effort required to prepare an estate while providing additional protection for items that require special care. Whether belongings are moving locally, being transported to another city, or entering storage, proper preparation helps ensure they arrive safely at their destination.
By identifying packing requirements early in the planning process, families and estate representatives can create a more organized and efficient move while helping protect important belongings throughout the transition.
Estate Storage Solutions
Estate decisions don’t always happen quickly.
Family members may need time to review belongings, legal processes may still be underway, or a property may need to be sold before final decisions can be made. In many situations, storage provides valuable flexibility during the estate settlement process.
Secure storage allows belongings to be protected while executors and family members determine what will be kept, distributed, donated, sold, or relocated. Storage can also help bridge the gap when property timelines, renovations, travel schedules, or family decisions require additional time.
Rather than rushing important decisions, storage can provide the breathing room needed to move forward at a pace that works for everyone involved.
Helping Coordinate Estate Moves
Whether you’re coordinating an estate move in Metro Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Toronto, or the GTA, Ferguson provides planning, storage, transportation, and moving services tailored to your situation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I arrange an estate move if I live out of town?
Yes. Many executors and estate representatives coordinate estate moves remotely. Planning, communication, and a clear moving plan help ensure the process remains organized even when decision-makers are not local.
What happens if family members disagree about what should be moved?
It’s common for estate decisions to take time. Establishing priorities and confirming instructions before moving day can help avoid confusion and ensure belongings are handled according to the estate’s requirements.
Can an estate move happen in stages?
Yes. Some estate moves are completed over multiple phases, particularly when family members require additional time to review belongings, coordinate deliveries, or make decisions about storage.
Are estate moving services only for large estates?
No. Estate moving services can be helpful whenever belongings need to be organized, relocated, distributed, or stored as part of settling an estate, regardless of the property’s size.
Can you move artwork, antiques, and collectibles?
Yes. Many estates contain valuable or sentimental belongings that require additional care during packing, transportation, and storage. These requirements can be discussed during the assessment process.
What if there isn’t enough time to sort everything before moving day?
Many estate moves involve tight timelines. Creating a plan early can help identify what needs immediate attention and determine whether storage or phased moving solutions may be appropriate.
Can estate moves be coordinated with lawyers, realtors, or other professionals?
Yes. Estate settlements often involve multiple parties. Coordinating timelines and communication can help ensure the move aligns with broader estate requirements and deadlines.
How do I know where to start?
Many people aren’t sure where to begin when settling an estate. A moving assessment provides an opportunity to discuss the situation, review timelines, identify priorities, and develop a plan based on your specific requirements.
